The Living Song team of artists, young artists and trainers have all expressed their joy at being part of the programme and final singing event for SING LAMBETH at the end of July. In spite of all the challenges of heat waves, rail strikes and Covid, Lambeth Academy and the London Nautical School still managed to attend the day at Southbank Centre. Other participating schools in the programme had been able to enjoy school-based workshops and singing resources for their students throughout the year and we look forward to seeing them for phase two 2022-23.
Accompanied by young musicians from Tomorrow’s Warriors the young people threw their energy into the workshops and rehearsals, leading up to an ‘informance’ of the year’s repertoire at the end of the day. The event was co-led by Lambeth Music Service partners, Southbank Centre and Pegasus Opera as well as Living Song. It was supported by three members of the Living Song Youth Advisory Board, two of whom have followed up the opportunity by attending Tomorrow’s Warriors workshops since! We celebrate the collaboration and connection!
We would like to thank Lambeth Music Service for inviting us to be part of this wonderful singing programme, and very much look forward to next steps through 2022-23.
