Dear Friends and Supporters,
We can’t deny that has been pretty tough, partly due to the fall out of COVID19 lockdowns and partly due to the closure of our host venue, Stratford Circus, E15 and therefore the end of our fruitful partnership with them.
However, we are grateful to have survived, recognising the challenges so many face in the world right now. We are galvanised with a strong sense of purpose as we re-group and look towards 2023.
Following really helpful discussions with our Advisory Board in March 2022, we did seek out business advise from a specialist who helped us get clear about the three main threads of our work going forwards, for the purpose of applying for funding and the sustainability of the organisation.
You can check out the three distinct area’s our work here.
- A Young Artist apprenticeship /’future leaders’ programme
- Delivering workshops in schools and the wider community
- A tailored Living Song Choral Music Experience (CME)
You will see from the News and Events on our website that we have been busy. We are particularly excited about our Singing For Mental Health and Wellbeing Project. The two day training in November was a huge success and we already have three follow on community workshops in place across Newham for January. If you would like to DONATE to this project, you can simply follow the link on our home page.
We are also heartened by our partnership with Lambeth Music for the second year and their Sing Lambeth Programme across Secondary Schools in the borough. It is exciting to be working with their teachers and young people, which is also providing a fantastic opportunity for our Artists and Young Artists to collaborate and widen their skills and portfolios. Do read on for further information.
Meanwhile we wish you a kind, cosy Festive Season and a safe, prosperous 2023.
Thank you for your interest in and support for our work. May you never find yourself without a song to sing!
