Dear friends and supporters,

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for remembering us when planning your singing programmes and workshops, for tusting us with your pupils, students and community groups and for being so positive about the work we do. Our artistic team and our brilliant Young Artists, many of whom have been developing through NewYVC, or Solid Harmony youth choirs continue to celebrate their association with Living Song.

I cannot pretend it has been easy delivering our mission without our umbrella organisation Stratford Circus, since it closed down last November. However, our partners at Lambeth Music, Community Links, Newham Schools and Newham Community projects, along with organisations further afield, like the Guilbenkian Theatre in Kent, and Cambridge University Primary School have continued to encourage us to deliver and grow. Our Youth Advisory Board are insistent that Living Song plays a vital role in many children’s and young people’s lives across Newham and beyond. They report increased confidence, musical skills and ability to network in their lives through the opportunities Living Song provides.

We have been working to strengthen and clarify our three core programmes:
  1. A Young Artist apprenticeship/’future leaders’ programme
  2. Delivering workshops in schools and the wider community
  3. A tailored Living Song Choral Music Experience (CME)
All three of these strands stand alone, but also overlap and interact through the participation of Young Artists. This will be the foundation on which we explore and seek funding from a wide range of sources.

You can read more about some our recent activities below or go to our website.

And finally, Please SAVE THE DATES for CME, LONDON 17th – 19th February 2023

Wishing you all a cool, healthy, joyful summer.
